I am going to be very sorry to see them go out of business. Though in the last few years I haven't had a lot of money to spend there (I stopped going to Echter's all together - they have a wonderful selection of plants but they are way too proud of them; Timberline was a bit more affordable) I have purchased a lot of nice plants from them through the years and Kelly Grummons has developed some very nice perennials for us - I am hoping that he will still be involved in that despite having to give up the nursery.

I keep telling myself that I am going to make it up there. Part of me doesn't want to "discover" this place just in time for it to close but at 30% off I think I will be there before long.

Having recently moved to Englewood, I mostly shop at O'Tooles these days, on Federal and Belleview. Before that, it was always City Floral or Paulino's. Before even that it was Dardano's Flowerland on West Evans - that is one place I truly miss - perennials grown in jumbo 4-packs were my favorites for years.

I noted the garden center on Kipling at 72nd has a big 50% off sign. However, it doesn't say exactly what is 50% off. So I make no guarantees. I have purchased perennials and annuals there from time to time and they have a nice, albeit small, selection.
