I think I'd want to see the same tiles on both sides. Pretty kitchen!

IMO, it should match if you are going to tile the desk area.

I'd either just paint it the wall color or use the same tile. I think either of those options will work well.

I'd use the tile. But two alternatives are painted bead board or paint wall with clear glass over it.
