Hi Rhonda,

You might be paranoid, I can't quite tell from your photos but usually scale that comes off easily is soft scale, spiders eggs or mealy bugs, most don't do too much harm unless it is a serious infestation. Hosing off with a jet of water usually clears these problems away, good air circulation helps keep unwanted pests off them.

I'm new at this and am so glad that you said I'm being paranoid. I have been rinsing them and dusting them off every couple of days, just in case. Thanks for sharing and commenting on my post.

Often when people first start growing Bromeliads they can over care for them and kill them with kindness, too much water etc, that being said some of the Bromeliads that I grew when I first started look better than some I grow now.
