What variety of fig do you have? Some are much hardier than others. How big are they? Have they been outdoors to get hardened and used to the sun? As a general rule, if you have a hardy variety, it could be planted now. Is it one that you will plant in a sheltered spot, and also, do you plan on giving it some sort of winter protection? I know these are a lot of questions but they ought to be addressed so your figs are happy.

I don't know the variety, but it came from a tree that lives successfully (covered for winter) right up the street. Mine have been in patio pots all summer, so they're plenty hardened.
