Same here. First the weather report says rain in 3 hours, then it gets changed to 6 hours, then 10 hours, and then it misses us and the sun comes out.

Interesting. I am in NJ. We had drought developing in March and April, but made up for it by June. However, I was visiting Long Island last weekend and I noticed it looked kinda dry. Sure enough, I checked with the U.S. drought monitor site, and they too are lagging behind in the rain department. (Not a long distance away as the crow flies.) We see mid to upper 90's this week w.o. much rain (but if there is rain..., better get to high ground!), so expect we will be watering soon.

We've now had about 3 weeks without any substantial rain; just a sprinkle here and there and twice a tenth of an inch or so. I will have to be hauling hoses this evening.

That rain that molie got in CT should have continued on to us, and for a while it looked like it would. I'm between Sandwich and Plymouth on the coast.

I kept waiting for it but as usual the system slid by to the south and missed us.

It's been really humid and we hit the dewpoint most nights so at least the dew dampens the ground.

same situation as NHBabs. I live west of her maybe half an hour. Very thankful for my yard hydrant so I don't have too much hose dragging to do. Veggie garden is about 25 yards from the house. I had very poor germination with bush beans so I don't know if it was old seed or not enough water. Just planted a late crop which looks like it has germinated fine but I'll have to give it protection from frost mid-September or I won't get any beans.

This is a useful national site to keep you updated on precipitation deficits and soil moisture. Still looks very spotty in the Northeast. (But after this week expect it to show growth into the MidAtlantic region.)

Same here in Rockingham County, NH. Storm fronts look ominous on the radar, but break apart before reaching us. Not dire yet, but we sure could use some water!
