Use white bedding with the dark furniture. I prefer the first wallpaper for its youthfulness, but if she likes the third one better...it is her room. Make sure you have enough lightness to counteract all the dark.

I think of your choices I like the black bed and white bedding to go with it. My first choice would be number 7.

I would go with minimal texture in the bedding bc of all the dark furniture pieces and the intensity of the wallpaper. I'd use something to soften it up a little to keep it from being to harsh.

Would you go with the other three walls being white, and if so what white... Or a light grey? I am planning on using lamps for more light as well as neon colours to lighten the effect of a dark room...

I like the geometric wallpaper for a teens room. :)

She also likes the effect of a dropping curtain over her bed, with string lights hidden in them. Similar to this photo, sheer white material may lighten the room too but allow the wallpaper to been seen faintly still to or do you think it's to much going on?

It's a double bed on a 11 foot wall window is not on this wall but on the wall to the right.

I think a gauzy sheer could be fun with that curtain. And I don't think I would do a light grey. I think I would aim for a soft white.

What are the floors?

Black & white in a bedroom can be elegant and dramatic. With the wallpaper she likes and a black bed, I think white bedding with black trim would look best (like photo #5 but with black instead of gray trim). If the dresser and nightstand wood can be drilled without splitting (test on back of item first), I would consider adding crystal knobs/pulls to the drawers to add interest and complement the crystal chandelier.

I would paint the 3 other walls in a light gray.

The ceiling is California knock down so I don't think wallpaper would be a good idea, plus it took a lot of convincing (read I am doing it anyway) when it came to the mr.... He doesn't like wallpaper at all so this is gonna be a start to introduce him to what a focal wall is really all about!

Bottom left wall paper with bottom left bed. White comforter, light teal or light yellow sheets, pillows and paintings in the room. I'd do a very light grey on walls (just redid mine and used Behr's Silver Marlin and love it!!) no wall paper on ceiling - that's too much going on. White drapes hanging over the bed might look nice but may also end up looking like there is too many things going on at once - especially if she pics one of the other wall papers that are busier than the bottom left.

I would stay away from the black bedding. It shows everything!! Will look nasty in no time.

gauze curtains, and lights, above a bed? sounds like a fire hazard to me -- teens fall asleep with lights on all the time -- as well as connected media.

also, if that is Ikea furniture -- be sure you get the kit (for free) that screws the furniture to the wall -- the Malm style has resulted in two fatalities of toddlers. For teens, a falling dresser could injure a body part or a pet, as well as break treasured/pricey objects, cause a fire from a lamp on top, etc.

my teen installed a chandelier over the end of her bed, and I was relieved that the light bulbs had such a low wattage --

I have avoided installing mirrors above the beds for similar safety concerns, and still need to do some more with the headboard to stabilize --

my daughter is now a young adult, who quickly tired of her black duvet, and returned to a Pottery Barn Teen style in lighter neutral geometrics, with black sheets. At home (and in her apartment) she keeps her walls white to retain flexibility. More Anthropologie than stark modern. This approach to color has worked well throughout her college years -- with different duvets --

if Mr. is opposed to wall paper, consider large pieces of Masonite framed with trim -- it's an easy project for a mother and a daughter and she could change her mind if she tires of the black and white -- or put one wall paper on one side and another on the other
