One in a room at the back of the house - the library/TV room. It only gets signal from Netflix or the DVD player. Watch it maybe 1 or 2x/week.

Watching the news while you eat - or listening to it on the radio is a surefire way to enjoy some dyspepsia!

Three ( living room, kitchen, bedroom ), but all smart TV's and we do not have a TV package just pay for Netflix, which is more than enough. They come with apps for almost everything. I listen to Pandora ( free version )for music as it streams as does youtube ( free ) . I love that I don't need extra wires or gadgets and not having to watch a bunch of commercials anymore. I really haven't spent the time to see all of the apps I might be interested in but it is plenty to keep me busy.

I don't have time for movies except maybe once a month. Mainly I watch news and weather and an occasional Blue Bloods. But I like to stay tuned to news as I go about my work around the house during the day, like the poster who has a TV where she irons and folds laundry. I have the DVR permanently set to record CBS morning news and watch it with my breakfast whenever I get ready. Our Xfinity package lets us watch a number of shows live on laptop, including whatever's on CNN. so I carry the laptop with me to the kitchen to cook sometimes. My sister has a TV in every room in her house, often all tuned to different daytime shows. I can't visit her for long - it makes me crazy.

We only have one and it RARELY gets turned on. We do not have any form of cable either, only free digital airwaves. I grew up without one, my daughter grew up without one and my daughter has decided my granddaughter will be limited, as well. So proud of her.

I'm embarrassed to say that I have 4 and there's only one of me. I guess I could count one for my dog and two cats. That would make it one for each resident. The TVs are located in the living room, the master bedroom, the guest bedroom, and the office.

No tv. Haven't had one for 30 years. Radio, two computers, iPad keep us connected enough. We depend on friends and pets for entertainment. We read a lot. It's easy to decorate around books!

4 TVs for 2 people. Living room, man cave, bedroom, guest bedroom.

I have a grand total of 6 tv's in my home. A 55" in the living room a 46" master suite a 32" in the guest room ,a 42" in my computer room , 22 in the kitchen along side my laptop. and a 46" I have yet to decide what to do with. The grands are toddlers Einstein is their show of choice when they visit. other than that it's ALL ME going from one room to the next

Just one but I don't think we really get any stations since we moved - we just stream stuff online. I'd much rather get out and do stuff than sit around and watch other people do stuff on a screen.

my girlfriend built her beautiful dream home for just 2 persons. I counted 9 TVs.

1 in kitchen, 50" in living room, 40" in bedroom (hubby "watches" sports while sleeping haha), 1 in guest room.

5 here but typically only use 2 of them at the same time. Tv in master bedroom for me to watch when husband is watching golf on the one in the living room or sunporch. One in each of the guest rooms upstairs for our guests to enjoy on their visit.

We have a television in our master bedroom, living room and children's bedroom. They must ask to turn the television on however and we are so busy, it mostly is on evenings only!

Bedroom, office, and main room

Master bedroom, living room, gym, back porch over an outdoor fireplace, and one in each of out two guest rooms.
The first three get the most use, the outdoor one mostly during nice weather or football games/parties. The two guest rooms are used when we have visitors or when I'm in there sewing or cleaning.
My satellite service has music stations so they're my "radio" at times.

I have 3, but one isn't hooked up and I rarely watch the one in the living room. Flat screen in the family room.

I only have one right now, a 21 inch TV in my bedroom, but I do want to put one in the living room; currently I'm setting up the electrical service and cables in the area where I want it... just wishing I had the time to finish the project.

Zero. Laptop and phone keep me occupied.

6. One in my sewing room, one in finished basement/game room, one in kitchen, one in family room, one in husband's office, one in each of two bedrooms upstairs. Phew! Oops. That comes to 7.

Right now we have two -- a big screen in the living room, & a small old style TV with rabbit ears in the kitchen. After we remodel the kitchen I want to replace the old rabbit ears one with a small flat screen for the wall so I can watch cooking shows while I cook. I don't allow any TV in the bedroom, it is supposed to be unhealthy to have one in the room in which one sleeps.

Living room, family room, 17 yr old son's room, and master bedroom (which rarely gets used, but nice to have if stuck in bed sick). Plus each member of the family has a laptop, tablet and cellphone which can stream netflix :)

The ones in our bedrooms are not hooked into cable, so can only watch DVDs in the master bedroom. And in son's bedroom there is also no cable, but he can stream you tube onto his TV from his laptop. Only the living room and family room have cable access. If anyone really wants to watch TV, not having a TV in the bedroom wouldn't make a difference since you can watch it through a laptop, tablet or phone just as easy. Mainly the bedroom sets are only used if someone is too sick to get out of bed.

Some how we have 4 - but no one really watches tv.

My husband and I have two--One in the family room and the other in my sewing room. Our adult son also lives with us and he has one TV!

Two, but I only use the one in the living room, have 2nd 1 in guest room for when grandsons visit.

I'd like to do a shout out to the 77 other people who voted that they don't have a TV. You all rock! I haven't had one since 1999 and its the best damn decision I ever made. My 4 and 6 year old kids get two hours screen time a week and they are the most social, creative, and easily entertained kids I've ever met.

I would give it a thought... it's paid dividends for us!

One is enough !

When raising 4 kids in a 4,000 square foot home, we had about 7! Kids' loft, each bedroom and family room.

Now with just my daughter and I, in a townhouse, we have 2. She watches everything on my laptop.

One is plenty for the two of us, and it gets used more for movies than actual tv... though I cannot go without my Tim Gunn fix on Project Runway (call me, Tim!). And when I'm not feeling well, I love to watch really bad movies on Lifetime. Other than that, I have a couple faves on the Food Network I watch intermittently, and sometimes I check in with the news or watch the latest Ken Burns documentary on PBS.

Left to my own devices I also have a fondness for quite horrible true crime shows and Criminal minds, but I can't watch those right now because my husband is recovering from a stroke and can't get anywhere to get away from my darker side. It upsets him terribly to hear those things, so I'm taking a break until he can leave the room in protest without assistance.

My husband could be quite blissful without a tv at all, but he likes to check out travel shows or the news sometimes. And as I said, we mostly watch our huge collection of DVDs and Blu-Rays.

Five tvs with eight people in household.

My husband is a sports fanatic so he has large flat screens every where. One over the fireplace (of course), in our bedroom, guest room and one over the bar outside. He had one in the other guest room but recently gave it to a buddy.

Three adults = 3 TVs. Big plasma (55 inches) in living room for movies. One for my 94 year-old aunt (I Tivo all her favorites) and one in the master allowing me to watch things my husband doesn't enjoy.

2 - one in the living room and one in the den/family room near the bedrooms/more private areas of the house. The one in the family room is used the most, and the one in the living room mostly used when my husband and I want to watch movies after kids in bed, or watch a news or other show not appropriate for the kids. My husband and I both agreed long ago with no TV in bedrooms, and our kitchen is a highly interactive social area, so TV would take away from that, so no TV there. Never even considered to put one in the bathroom, but we do have magazines and books there. ;-)

I'm going to be honest with this because I try to watch very little to , I think maybe it's the guy that comes out when I say that when I do watch TV come prepared... it would be easier to tell you the rooms I don't have a TV but that wouldn't even be easy because the hallway doesn't have a TV and and there is no TV in the foyer. other than that yes I have one in the kitchen yes I have one in the family room yes in the master bedroom the spare bedroom I have an office that has to have a man cave that has two and course there is a smalltv in the bathroom and in the garage...omg I have 10 TVs ,that is ridiculous why did you make me count... it is fun to have on Superbowl Sunday because you really don't want to miss even the commercials.

Actually more tv's than people anx with laptops, ipads and iphones their use has gone down significan try.

I have a 17" diagonal 20 year old box. I only watch the weather and a few shows. Only catch up on tidbits of news. Oh, one more thing- It has rabbit ears!!- So futureistic!

I personally have one small tv stashed in the corner of my bedroom along with other debris items. It's about ten years old. I used to retreat there to watch some videos and DVDs. Now I just retreat to the room. Have not used it in over 10 years. How many tv's are there in our house? More tv's then there are people. There is one in my nieces room. One in the guest room one in main living room, one in family room area, two in main bedroom and the one in my bedroom. Then you add three laptops 2 iPads, one desk top and 4 smart phones all of which are outside the question but all of which get heavy use. And they wonder why I retreat. I quite happily lived without a tv for many many years when I lived in an apartment of my own. My sister ultimately gave me a tv for Christmas as she could not conceive of life without one. I did start watching for a few years but have to say that I realized later that a lot of the time watching was time I had used doing other things that gave me a lot of pleasure. Now when I am home alone the tv's may all be here but they are all turned off until other family members start to arrive and switch on the ones they use and cannot live without.

3 TV's total. Family Room, Master Bedroom, Kids Bonus Room (this way we don't have to provide a TV in each child's room and they can watch TV while the grown-ups watch what they want, where they want). By limiting the TV's to three, I was able to buy a better quality television for each location with the smallest being a 50" Samsung, and also allowed the purchase of two surround sound systems without breaking the bank. Times are changing anyway, because most kids watch streaming content on computers and Ipads which are essentially mobile viewing devices.

I'd love to hear what age people are who are responding. It would be interesting to understand if there are correlations to age and number of televisions. I would theorize that people who grew up during the discovery/golden age of television may be prone to have more than people that fall on either side of that era. Just a thought.

I'm 45 by the way.

No TV since I borrowed one to watch Watergate. Kiddos grew up TV- free. No eating dinner or sitting around the warm glow of the TV. Guess I get my visual chewing gum in other ways.

I have only one and it's in the living room. May add one to the basement for guests if I ever decide to finish it. I don't want to spend too many years of my life watching tv, and having one in the bedroom just seems to promote couch potato behavior. I work in tech and don't need to spend any more time looking at screens than I already do.

One. In the guest room with HDMI and multi-media player, for our guests. No cable or dish. DH does watch some news programs on his computer, though.

We are a family of 4. We have a strict no TV in bedroom rule and only allow for them to be in commual areas and for that reason we have 2; one in the livingroom and one in the family room.

We are (or will be this year) 37, 35, 16 and 12. My kids only use their laptops for schoolwork and neither watches TV on their phones. Being that most school work is even done on screens we try to take a break from them when home during the week.
