After further inspection it looks like it had a bit of root rot. I had too much soil in the medium. trimmed all the rotted roots off and switched to mostly bark. Praying for new roots =)

Oh and I am Located on the central coast of california near San Luis Obispo. I live about 2 miles or so from the beach. this orchid has been in a room with a bright west facing window.

One half of the breeding is easy. Lc. Trick or treat. Widely grown orchid that is easy to grow and flowers in spring. An orchid grown in a shade-house here and will tolerate cool winter nights outside. The unknown is the other half of the breeding.

A guess is that it would be better outside all year. Eastern aspect. morning sun and protection from the hot afternoon sun.

I'm not crazy about the pot. Looks too big. I would put it in a smaller pot that allows better air flow to the roots.

Agree with Arthur, the plant should be outdoors.
