I don't think it is necessary or makes sense to have a ceiling fan in the dining room. get a great chandelier for over the table.

I was actually thinking of a tiffany light over table. I'll see if I can find one for you. I personally would love to see that over the table.

Perfect addition to your dining style. With the high ceilings you need one that has chain so that bottom of light is 30-32" above table top.

Thank you for all of the great ideas. I found a great 1920's piece on eBay but my sister is giving me grief. She says I can't put a chandelier in because if the table is placed below it in the center of the room it blocks the traffic from the living room through the dining room to the kitchen (please see the photo. ). Does anyone have any ideas to remedy the situation. thank you again for all of your help

I don't see a big deal in walking around the table, but you can always swag it over to a different area. just takes more chain.

I am not a swag fan, so I would go with a flush mount. No worry about centering then;)

It's not that difficult to move the wiring over a couple of feet you know.
