That's a Fukien tea (carmona microphylla), Can you post 1-2 more pix of other sides please, direct ones of the sides so we can get a better look at design possibilities? Yes, get the glued on mess off there, but if you really want to get into bonsai, prepackaged is not the way to go... very few places sell "bonsai soil" and those that do usually have muck rather than good stuff. And ditch that ghastly 'moss'!

What's very important is that the stuff is fast draining - you don't want to hold water in there as you might with an African Violet or garden plant, or roots can rot. You also want to wait til at least an inch or so of the mix is dry before watering again each time. And it needs very high light for up to 15 hrs a day, which usually means a fluorscent 'daylite' hung within 6 inches of the top. And most important for this tree is humidity, which doesn't mean spraying water twice a day, but arrange a high sided and wide tray underneath with large stones on it so water in it won't wick into the pot bottom and rot roots. That's called a humidity tray. I think you'd be better off to Google 'soil mix for Fukien tea" and get enough hits to form your own consensus on how to repot, but in a pinch use a bagged Orchid mix, switching out stones over 1/16" for e.g. large gravel for aquariums, and breaking up wood pieces into smaller ones.
