You can call it whatever you want, but the table in the photos has a base made of Spruce-Pine-Fir lumber. The legs do appear to be thicker than the usual 1-1/2" for dimensional 2x6, but I've been a carpenter and woodworker since the mid-70s and can promise you that isn't oak in the pics. Also, the stretchers are likely steel, not iron; the difference might be lost on most folks, but accuracy matters. Perhaps the tables will ship in oak and iron, and the SPF-and-steel unit pictured is the original mockup; I'd do the same as a test run, then keep it or sell it to a friend. I'd be careful, though, about promising one thing and delivering another... That said, it's a great, simple, and structurally solid design that ought to last forever.
