Lisa is any part of the caudex mushy? I would hate to disturb blooms or seed pods unnecessarily.

Lisa, I have one that has an opening similar, made by myself as the plant had a small side root that was rotting. When I trace it back, I had to cut out part of the trunk. Making quite an opening in the caudex. Put Elmer"s waterproof glue all over it and to date it has done well. I will post a photo of it for you.

A fella in the Adenium group I frequent. He has one and he has a little elf sitting just inside. Similar to what people use in those Fairy Gardens.

I am surprised that it's as healthy as it is, cave and all! It is all nice and firm, (as far as I can tell) I don't want to disturb it while the seeds are there. But as soon as those seeds pop I will report it so I can make sure nothing else is rotting. Should I maybe rub it with the elmers glue then just to be on the safe side? I'm gonna find a miniature bear for the cave!!!!

I hope it pulls through. It would make for a uniquely beautiful plant for the collection.

Lisa, I will post my pictures later too. (too dark outside now) We as adenium grower all have this happened. Some needs help to heal, some will heal by itself.

Lisa, I was looking for my friends photo of his with no luck, but his was a natural split or occura cd and healed on it's own.

I wonder if these Adeniums heal the way many trees here will when damaged and the cambium layer creates a scar?

Here is my tree. I have shown this one on a different thread, but always without it showing. She is a bit vane and I like to spare her this. Second thought, maybe it is me that is vane.

This is the second year since the operation. So happy that the tree made it as I enjoy it very much.

Very nice! Like the one I have, if you look at the other side you would never know. It looks quite fat and happy. I will be so happy to finally get these under control. I have seven in small pots, twelve out of control big ones that all need new pots, (most of the big ones were my Mom's who passed away in May 2013, and I really haven't done anything with them since) and I'm not sure how many seedlings I have going now. I will just guess around 35 or so and many of them are marked with the names of family or friends that can take them home....... one day. Probably when that seed pops open so I can make room for more.

Lisa, no I didn't used glue. I just know about the glue last year. Both plants healed now.
