acm: I don't think so. I'm EXTREMELY simple when it comes to decorating.

I agree with Alicia...go vertical with a chalkboard. There are lots of choices...I searched for quite some time before I found the right wall chalkboard for our laundry room.

HI -- Benjamin Moore paints has tintable chalkboard paint and you can also have it magnetized too . You could do the whole wall if you want instead of a little square and it can be any color you want .
