Would these work with my furniture and style of my home

We purchased a sofa and two recliners. They are a light gray but have a bluish cast to them which is good since I am accenting with blue. Now my question is on tables (I'm getting rid of the ottoman and dark side table) and a media cabinet for under the TV which is on the opposite wall. I did also purchase the round side table which I like. It is chrome, glass and some lucite. I'm still looking for a chrome and glass rectangular side table for the other side and am thinking about the coffee table below. I'm not sure if the medium brown media cabinet would go or if I should find one to paint grey like the other photo. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Want to keep sofa and chairs.

You have a room full of leather. A wood coffee table is much better than glass, but I still think that a fabric ottoman will soften all the leather in the room rather than have all those hard surfaces. If you want less blue then go ivory or white.

Pick some artwork that has some blue in it along with other colors - like orange, green. Use accessories in these other colors and this will make your room look awesome.

Thanks so much everyone. I just ordered the blue tufted coffee table and also the media cabinet below (my tv will be mounted on the wall) also took the pictures back. I will be on the hunt for new art. I do love that cityscape but haven't been able to find it online. You all have been great help. Oh...the brown leather ottoman and curio clock are on Craigslist if anyone's interested.

I hope the media cabinet will be longer in proportion to your TV than shown in the photo above.

Thank you, mary, yes it is Pier 1. The print is 55" wide, so hopefully will cover your sofa wall.

    Thank you Mary

I think that you need art that will bring that extra punch to the room .

This would be it for me :)

Unfortunately the wall is only 68" wide. It will just have to work I guess. Also, while I'm at it here. Now that I have this living room rug that I love I don't think the foyer rug goes with it and obviously you can see it from all angles of my open plan condo.

    Oops..here is the pic

I do love the cityscape art but I do think I need more bold color. Also once I get the ottoman I will look for a tray.

Those wires shouldn't be visible ,add a couple baskets under the table to hide the plugs.

There will be a media cabinet to the floor and my husband is going to put all the electric and cable wires thru the wall to come out behind the TV. He's done it before. We are still in the process of renovating things. We just moved in last summer and had to completely gut the place replace all baseboards and put in the wood floor. It's a slow process.

One way to brighten up the art work, instead of buying new, is too have it re-matted & re-framed, can make a huge! difference.

TP, once you get the ottoman pick up the city scape art and hang it, Might surprise you how well it goes in the room. When you are at Pier 1 try some pillows of colors in the painting to add to the blue on sofa. Maybe some gold or yellow from the art in a pillow might be the "pop" you need.

This appears to be the current plan for the room:

I still think a wood table would add more interest.

I see there is a touch of yellow in the pillows on the chairs. Maybe switch to sofa and add one solid gold/yellow from the painting for sofa and move the solid blue to chairs. Love the painting over the sofa. Thanks, grover. I think a tray you mentioned will finish it off. This has a nice shape from Pier 1

(on sale also, which we love)

I like your current table. Great suggestion to just reupholster it. It would be a great way to get pattern into the room. It seems to be very practical with the storage bins.

Thanks so much groveraxle for putting it all together so I can really see it and Susan for your ottoman idea and city scape art. I really appreciate all the help you both have given me. I had to go out of town this morning and will be coming back on Wednesday and the ottoman is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday and we'll be picking up the media cabinet on Thursday as well as running to Pier 1 for the picture and look for a tray. I hope this all works. It's really coming together with all your help. I'll post the pics at the end of the week.
Lila...that would probably work and look beautiful but it's such a big heavy looking piece with the storage underneath and I really want to be able to see the rug.
Just recovered my 'ugly' ottoman. It took a couple hours start to finish.
Decided against painting the base white.
Wanted glass and chrome, but, decided I liked the comfort and ++ storage.
Oh. And it cost $23 fabric and buttons!!
Do you like to put your feet up to watch TV? If so go ottoman a round one would work better with arrangement. Or go a black mental 24" would work too. Try black, I don't like the matchy look. Go a unique look in media. Maybe a red lacquer ....or yellow. Then get a big 40" art over sofa. Lots of color go a oil. Contemporary. Take color from that in pillows. Use bolder colors to make the room more interesting. Try Z Galleries for art. Step, out of your comfort zone.

I love this look. Think the chrome coffee table is going to make the area sterile. Hard to keep clean with fingerprints and dust. Restoration Hardware has beautiful washed gray tables. Perfect for this. Won't jump at you like the dark. Will add texture and warmth. Go there and take a cushion and pick out a table with a little work on it.

I like the chrome but agree about it all be a bit sterile, cold and bland if you are not careful.

Adding some wood helps bring life and texture to the space. I also think a bright coloured organic rug would make a big difference ... and by colour I mean with some touches of warmer colours (like red, orange. pin, yellow) as well as some greys and blues.

Where can I buy that chrome floor lamp with glass tabletop? I have just the spot for it.

Annesdream...the lamp and table are separate. Floor lamp is old from Target and round table is new from Home Goods.

Now looking more closely, I see that. I'm disappointed! Thanks for the response and good luck.

I see that your flooring is a warm color with orangy undertones. Have you considered coral as your accent color? If you use the traditional color wheel for determining your accent color, orange is across from blue and is considered the perfect counterpoint for colors in that family. If you are going for a monochromatic look, I'd stay away from more and more and more blue and try to bring in some taupe. If the hue is the same (saturation of color) it will be beautiful. Taupe would also help tie in the warmth of wood.

coral upholstered table and coral dominated (not solid) pillows would be very impressive

Wow, lots of wonderful ideas. I have only one however, as for the art, just try this, go big, lots of colours only one of which is blue, bright bold, maybe geometric, modern, just something that has a lot of powerful bright beauty. You need really badly, more colours than blue and grey. Have fun, go to a place where they sell cheap paintings, like Ikea, bring home several that you think you like, crazy wild fun ones. Hang each up for a while, pick one you love and take all the rest back. If you want good art, take them all back and look for the one you liked the colours of in a good shop. This is just an easy way to experiment. Having said this, this is my opinion only, if you like what you have, disregard my advice. Love your furniture.

I have a similar color scheme in my LR. I just bought a Grey sectional and need to fill out the room and blue is my accent. I like Your chrome/glass table, and Susan's first and second glass with wood tables and the blue padded bench and your wood and glass table with the 3 blue balls on it. My suggestion would have been to hang your TV on the wall and put a low shelf under it, but you already have that & probably want to get rid of it. I prefer having the floor space over the TV stand. However, you could get/paint a blue TV stand to get that color in the room. But either the blue coffee table or the blue TV stand not both. Agree that you will have to watch not to make the room too bland. Blue pillows would help too. And Susan2494 where can I get the two glass topped tables with wood bases. They are what I'm looking for. Thanks

Deborah...I actually found both of those wood tables at Art Van Furniture. I've already ordered the blue padded ottoman and it should arrive tomorrow. I'm also going to bring some art home tomorrow to try out. Can you post some pictures of what your room looks like.

I love your room and I would love to buy the furniture!! I think a glass table is a great idea, with either a glass or metal frame, but not chrome.

Why not get some lovely fabric in blue print and cover the original ottoman, save some Money too. It will bring some life into the room

I'm back and have received the ottoman and Media console. I also purchased the cityscape picture I really liked. I love the media console and ottoman but not sure about the the picture. It just seems like too much blue. While at Pier One I purchased the flower pillow and goldish lumbar. I like the lumbar but not the flowered one so much. I think I need to find a picture that has less blue. I love the idea of Mellon color but think yellow would go better in the room.

Thanks also for the idea of reupholstering the square ottoman but mine is just too bulky for me. The one shown above turned out beautifully. Back to shopping again.

Love the ottoman and lumbar pillow. I even like the flowered one. Art is such a personal preference; if you don't love it--try again. :) Media console is a win for me, too! Good work TP.

Of course I am not in the room, but when I opened your photo of the pillow and picture, I think they are great together. But then I like the color. many will disagree,. This is your home and you need to feel comfortable with it. The ottoman looks fab and I love the picture and that pillow with it. Just my opinion. The console is a good fit for the wall, good job.

I wish people would quit mounting their TVs. They become immovable, and then when furnishings change, they end up at the wrong height. Yours would look better lowered to just above the console or sitting on top.

Thanks for all your help Susan and groveraxle. I guess I just have to get more comfortable with color and stop being so "safe". Safe=Boring! I am really liking the yellow/gold with the blue. I'm getting there thanks to all your help. My husband especially likes the ottoman and so do I. He is used to putting his feet up.

Groveraxle...I know, I know...the TV is definitely too high. We don't mind moving it, we have to take it down to hide the wires in the wall anyway. I do wish the wall was a little wider but we really didn't think about it when we were opening up the walls in this 1978 condo. It was actually all broken up rooms. I'm in the process of ordering the pics you suggested. I have looked at so many and I do think they'll look good. I think the 3 rectangles (ottoman, sofa & picture) were throwing me off so maybe 2 more vertical pictures will do the trick.

I love the oranges and yellows in the paintings, ( would even add more) they really help add some life to the room. With regards to paintings (or any decorative type items) go for odd numbers, they look much better/are more pleasing to the eye. So behind your sofa either have one large painting or three. There is something about having a pivotal middle one to balance the rest. Try it and see how it works better. There's also something more refreshing about it whereas 2 looks a bit dated and 'traditional', not 100% sure why.

One thing about your cushion, it's a bit too traditional in style compared tothe furniture and art so for me it clashes. Here are some examples of more colour (not saying I love them all just offering options re colours ) ...

Hello-- everything is coming along nicely and you have had such great help for Houzzers! My only suggestion would be to add some life via plants and also suggest original artwork. Once you have the size and colors that are important to you, go look on etsy. There are many amazing artists that sell great works at reasonable costs. Yes, they may cost more than pier 1 but they are real authentic paintings. It would take your nicely decorated room from looking staged to looking like home. One other thing--I think your recliners may be tilted towards the TV? Looks awkward to me, especially with so many right angles in that room. Enjoy your beautiful new space!
