Hello! My partner and I have different opinions when it comes to interior design, so I'm hoping someone here can give advice on what kind of rug would work best in this space. Currently we have a dark, Persian-style rug but I would like something lighter and brighter that contemporizes the space while fitting with our mid-century theme.

The picture is a little dark but the couch is gray, the chair is gray/brown with light orange floral pattern. The room is accented with various blues.
