I'm not a professional but we have a timber tech deck and I would stay far away from that stuff. We've had ours for about 4 years - it gets hot, slippery when wet, fades in the sun, and scratches from furniture being pushed (ie. pushing chair back from table). We are in the process of doing another project and want a wood deck but also want to avoid the maintenance. The Trex (if I remember properly, it is the same company as Timbertech but higher end product) salesperson said they have improved the product since then. I went to see an installation at a hotel that was 1 month old (I figured that would give me an idea of the current durability)... looked terrible because it was already scratched from people moving their chairs on the deck. I will not consider composite wood for any project again. We looked at wood styled porcelain tiles... they were got very hot in the sun and slippery when wet (even though they were qualified for poolside use). Hope that is helpful.
