Funny, right after I read your post I thought: "now you can give 'That 70's Show' {the one with Ashton Kutcher} their kitchen back!" But Tania Katzenmaier beat me to it with her 'Brady Bunch' reference lol. --A great transformation you did!!

Now I just have to send 'my own' kitchen back to the 70's where it came from with it's ugly dark burgundy red & black 'brick look' linoleum...yuk!!

Love the garage. I put 2 in my redo. A corner one for my mixer, cuisinart, and vitamix blended and one for coffee station that also helps define end of counter.

I have to admit, I'm not all that wild about the "after" version. At least the "before" version had some color. The "after" seems to bland and unimaginative. It's almost like showing a "before" and a "before".

I agree this is nice but it needs some color. Consider a backsplash with a little color or even updating the lights over the sink (globes) to bring in color. Also the rug needs to go. It looks old fashion . Bottom line much better than the before pictures but a little color will take it over the top for me. Good luck

Suggestions for color for it to pop? Ideas for a rug?
The cabinets were custom made with a light glaze in the crevices. I love my kitchen and I do agree it could use a pop of color. Please suggest ideas or photo suggestions.

Great makeover! We think the best rugs for kitchens are usually flatweave or natural fiber rugs. These are hardy, durable, can live through a spill or two, and protect your floors in vulnerable areas, i.e. near the sink, dishwasher, oven, etc. Here's and orange and yellow flatweave example for some "pops of color" you might want.

This is my rug in the room by the kitchen. Could I pull a color off that to put in the kitchen?

I do like the idea of bringing in small items in the red tone from the carpet, be it kitchen utensils, or a vase or flower pot, or even canisters or a tray. I have a white and black kitchen as well, and the floor colour looks to be very similar. I have gone with bright green, (like the HOUZZ logo), for one small wall, kitchen canisters and tea towels.....

I do like bright green too.

The wall paper is of old restaurant menus...The green is on the end wall opposite

it looks great and I love that you've put in cabinets all the way to the ceiling. My biggest kitchen pet peeve is cabinets that don't go all the way to the ceiling and both lose out on storage space and have to be cleaned on top (my least favorite kitchen chore). When I finally get to design my kitchen I will have cabinets JUST like yours! Good luck picking out an accent color!
