As my description is not so accurate I looked at pictures and found one of

Salvia brachyloba at Robin Middleton site that has rather similar spike plus flower color and proportions. A bit narrower and slenderer.

However plant is low heavy branching and leaves are quite different soft clear pink and larger wider based down stems.

About leaves they are similar to Salvia procurrens. Same green, similar edges and shape. very different growth habit. In my garden and as pictured at robinsalvia.

I hope these elements will allow some id progress

We really need a photo showing foliage and flowers.

I have pictures in a friend PC that refuse to be sent...

After viewing a lot of salvia pictures a close approximation of my salvia would be a much smaller in parts and overall verticillata with softer crenate leaf edges.

Well I am not used to sending pictures to a forum.

I have them on my Mac desktop and in iPhoto...

When you are composing your reply, look below the text box where you are typing for a camera icon with the word photo. Clicking on that should take you to a dialog box that will allow you to find the photo that apparently is saved to your computer's desktop. Select the photo and click open (on a Windows PC). It should be similar on a Mac.

Calice and flower color and size fit rathher well.

Though leaf shape and surface as well as leaf edges are different: much smoother.

Actually wondering if it is something else: not a salvia.

A close up of the flowers will tell if it is a Salvia.

Lastly I got a reply from the vendor back from holidays.

He suggested merjamie that has a very different flower... and napifolia whose flower fit better. What do you think?

I agree with it being close to napifolia, which is very similar to verticilata, and has a more southern distribution (Turkish-Iranian element), whereas verticillata is a European-Siberian element. Some authors have reduced napifolia to a subspecies of verticillata.

The seller (it is Dutch national collection holder) should know his plants.

Just now accidentally I did find a better fit with Salvia verticillata Hanneys Blue whose leaf and flower are identical to my plant.
