Yes, I think I would paint the house trim the same color as the house to keep just the windows and the garage as the architectural focal points.

I like this garage too, but I don't think the house architecture/style should play 2nd fiddle to the garage. A trellis for colorful vines would cheer up that bare privacy wall, maybe one that echoes the garage door design of verticals and horizontals.
