Mine weren't that great this year, either. Maybe too hot & humid?

I second mad_gallica; there's oodles of new growth there, and maybe it's just protesting being planted out of its pot. Do a clean, thorough job of removing the yellowing/dying foliage to reduce the stress on the plant, and be sure to keep that baby watered. The fact that it's blooming at all AND producing new canes is a good sign!

I just looked back at when we bought and planted them, it was May 2. They seemed to look better then than now...

Describe how you care for the rose. Is it in full (8+ hours) of sun? How often is it watered? and finally, what larger and smaller plants are growing around it (like oaks, maples, any weeds, etc). Plants that undergo transplant shock tend to look how your roses do, with yellowing and dieback of older foliage and a spurt of new growth as the season continues.
