Help, these weeds are taking over!!!

Ok, I have two sets of weeds I cannot figure out what they are or how to get rid of them. The first set are growing up straight out of the mulch of the tree in my front yard. The 2nd have started taking over my garden. Please let me know if you have seen them before and how I can get rid of them.

The growth at the base of the tree is suckers from the rootstock. Ie they are part of the tree so you can't use herbicide on them or dig them out. All you can do is cut them off and try to avoid damaging the base of the tree as that can stimulate more suckering.

Your other plant could be a smartweed but it's easier to id plants when they are still growing. W e also can't see the tops of the leaves.

I agree with floral, tree suckers for the first and smartweed for the second.
