No. It's still green so is contributing to the plant's health.

we dont live in a disney movie .... lol ... there is no real perfection in the garden.. once you start observing this close ...

and.. that is part of the fun ...

Update : it was big nasty slugs causing the damy. Beer got some of 'em. Thank you for your help. Any other slug fighting suggestions?

Slugs need a cool, moist environment to live in so gardens with good mulches are havens for slugs. During the day slugs will find and hide under rocks, boards, or any other material that provides some protection from the sun and heat.

Beer traps can be useful, but it is the yeasty smell that attracts the buggers so stale beer is the best bait. A mix of water and yeast works just as well.

Encouraging predators of slugs can be a big help, Toads. many small snakes, birds, some beetles, and there are even predator slugs that will eat other slugs. To keep these predators around, however, means not killing off all of the slugs in the garden because those predators do need a food source. Perhaps this article might be of some help.
