I have heard that in the past (decades ago) There was just a "Vegetable Gardening " forum. Then they decided to branch out "Growing Tomatoes" and just named it like that. Otherwise in a gardening site the word "GROWING" is redundant.

Way back when when Spike first created GardenWeb (back in the early-90s) we had like 5 or 6 forums total and the name seemed like a good idea at the time because that's what it is about - growing tomatoes - and because a couple of the other forums also had "Growing" in their title (like Vegetable Gardening used to be Growing Vegetables) before tomatoes was split off from it. The name, like several of the other unusual ones (Legumes, Alliums, Potagers, etc.) has just stuck through all its various reincarnations and changes in owners.

But it isn't that difficult to find any forum or topic. Just type it in the search bar. "tomatoes" typed in the search bar pulls up Growing Tomatoes forum first thing.

Blame it on Houzz

It doesn't bother me, I'm just so glad they did away with that stupid scroll screen blocking half the view when you weren't signed in.

I remember having the same problem, and it happened long before houzz was involved. See Digdirt Dave's post. I would think it would be very easy to also list it under "T."
