The trouble with camellias (and one of their charms, also) is how variable they are. The same plant usually will have variations amongst the flowers in terms of color, size and shape, but I'm guessing your photos are of 'typical' camellias from your plants.

My best guess for photo #1 is the NZ hybrid camellia 'Tamzin Coull'. If the lighting in the photo is a bit misleading in terms of color, have a look also at 'EG Waterhouse'...

I wonder if your large red double could be 'Kramer's Supreme', 'Ted Craig' or 'Dr Clifford Parks'? I haven't heard of a camellia called 'Robert Fortune'; is it an Aussie cultivar?

I suspect that the ruffly pink lovely in the second-to-last photo is one of Aspasia Macarthur's offspring, maybe 'Jean Clere' or 'Lady Loch'? But there are other possibilities... I wouldn't rule out the notoriously variable 'Hikarugenji' (AKA 'Herme') or 'Vittorio Emmanuel II' or 'Elegans Splendor'...

They are all lovely; have fun researching them, but if you can't decide, I'm willing to bet there's a camellia club in Melbourne, and you can probably contact someone local for ID assistance.

Thanks Virginia. I saw a post where you had pictures of your camellias blooming and they were amazing.

So I have spent the better part of this morning researching and this is what I found:

Pic 1 - Virginia Franco Rosea (coincidence?). Others in the running were Water Lilly and Jessica Wilson

Pic 2 - Dr. Clifford Parks. The other consideration was Ted Craig.

Pic 3 - I have no idea...

Pic 4 -Lady Loch

Pic 5 - Henry Turnbull

I'd be happier if there was a better look at the foliage for VFR, since the flower is variable.

The petal texture and stained-berry color look very similar to me, as does the foliage... Other photos of 'TC' don't have as strong a resemblance, however, so I'm not tied to this particular ID.

'Henry Turnbull' looks like a good fit for the last one; it also reminds me a bit of an old Japanese camellia 'Miyakodori', but I think the stamens look more like 'HT'.

I'd like to see a better photo of the 3rd camellia; the bloom looks a bit shapeless, but it has a slight aura of 'Donation', maybe? Or maybe not. If you can post another photo, that might spark some recognition for someone.

Congrats on 'inheriting' some lovely camellias with the new house, and thanks for posting photos of camellias for those of us in that other hemisphere where camellias aren't blooming.
