I've seen many designers choose a white walls or cabinets for the kitchen, but in reality, unless you microwave a lot, the white walls and cabinets are going to turn yellow after a year, doesn't matter how often you clean it.

I have white in my laundry and wood in my kitchen and prefer the wood. In the pictures above, I like the wood cabinets, but not the counter or backsplash. The white is very pretty too - and I do like the counter and backsplash - but for the cozy home feel, I like the wood.

I think it's a matter of personal taste. I prefer and have white cabinets with hickory floors. My grandmothers, mom and I (all home cooks) all had white kitchens that stayed white. Keeping clean, good quality paint and good venting makes a huge difference.
