Well it definitely appears as though you have the room to expand if you choose. The cost will of course expand, so it just depends on your budget. If you go that route you will probably end up doing new cabinets? iIs the floor level? For some reason, the kitchen, as it is appears now, doesn't appear to be level? If that is the case, you may want to address that also.

Your kitchen is really not all that bad. What kind of price range are you looking at?

One suggestion on your appliances would be to get a counter-depth refrigerator, this would give you a little less space, but then it wouldn't be so distracting from sticking out so far.

A small bakers cart that can be used as a small island might be nice...

...and if you are planning a complete re-do with cabinets and everything, I'd get rid of the drop ceiling above the cabinets and take them all the way to the ceiling. I know those top cupboards are hard to reach, but the storage would be great, and there are always seldom used items that can be stored there. :)

Lkristine, the floors are level as I just had floors replaced. It's just my bad photo skills :). Yes I want badly to replace everything!
