Headboard Dilemma with fitted sheets!

Hi we have an amazing Dux bed with a beautiful leather headboard to go with it. My problem is that because the headboard attaches directly to the bed, its impossible to get fitted sheets to go around the top of the bed! The mattress/bed is deep, and the headboard attaches to both ends of the top, but quite close to the sides, so you can't fit the sheet on the way its supposed to. It is really frustrating, since they either just slide off, or I have to wrestle with stupid sheet elastic fasteners that always come off! (and are really awkward to feed through the tiny gap between the bed and headboard, reach way down around and below to grab the fastener, and then pull it over to the side and try to attach it!): Does anyone have any experience with this or have any secrets/tips to make changing our sheets not a dreaded nightmare?!

Well in Sweden, where Dux mattresses are from, they don't use fitted sheets. That's why you are having a heck of a time. They used flat sheets and tuck it down the sides. Those who insist on using fitted sheets use it on the top 2" layer. There are speciality linen manufacturers that make fitted sheets specifically for the 2" upper layer.

Lift the matress from the corner and fit sheet over corner this is the case with any headboard.

I second what Patricia said. I've been doing that for almost 20 years with no problem. I have my husband help me change the bed so that helps.

Are you saying that the headboard attaches to the mattress? Or to the frame the mattress rests on? Should we assume that the mattress is wedged in so tightly that it can't be lifted?

The mattress is attached to the frame - its all one solid piece. So there is no mattress to lift. And the headboard is attached to the whole mattress/bed frame. Does anyone have a Dux bed?

Ahhh Ok, so maybe we're missing that 2" layer then?! We have nothing that you could 'tuck' into, so that would make sense. I didn't know there was supposed to be an upper layer - we were gifted the bed from a friend, and it was barely used, but maybe they kept or threw out the upper layer. Thank you for that input!
