need help on pool size

hi, i have a small backyard and would like to build a pool and still have some grass. what are your thoughts on a rectangle 20 x 12 pool? is it big enough? whats the minimum feet to have as the edge that will meet the grass where you walk around? how much room do you need to put a few lounge chairs? thanks

What type of pool use are you looking to achieve? Lap pool, kids use, adult only,...? Rectangle is a great shape, I have a small 10k gallon pool 13.5x26 and its perfect for our use (family of 4). I would post pics of your site or draw them for the best opinions. For example if you allow 2' next to a wall it's inadequate but '2 path next to grassy area is fine.
