I need help fitting this bench in

PRO11 years agoIf you really like the sofa and the white bench together lets make them more cohesive with the addition of an area rug in a lighter color to pop off the floor (maybe in a taupe or chocolate and a white), then add some coordinating white large fur pillows to the sofa, and head back to west elm to pick up a mirrored tray to set on the bench:) I like the little entry cabinet above:) Also maybe a cute side table.

11 years agolast modified: 11 years agoI don't think the bench is working there because of its shape, it just looks a bench when you need something that can be viewed/used as a coffee table as well. I feel it's not the right shape - the picture below shows how a square fits well, is more accessible and feels more complete.

I agree that the bench doesn't belong. I don't think it is so much the shape but the contrast. A rectangular coffee table in wood or a combo of wood and glass would be a better fit. And an area rug would be a great addition.

I don't see a problem with the space. It looks ok in the photos. Don't panic. You just need to find the right coffee table and rug. As I mentioned I think the shape of bench is fine, not the fabric or color.

How about the shape below - see how it works in the picture. Your couch is fine...you could add a hemp or shag rug and great pillows. I don't particularly like the little chest..I think I would wait to decide on the coffee table/ottoman and then purchase somehting that compliments.

11 years agoI would definitely get rid of that bench and get a large square one for you in front of the sectional. I have one and love it, plus it has plenty of storage inside.
11 years agoI think black, white, and green pillows will go a long way to pull your furniture together and artwork. A white dresser will give the room another hit of white, giving strength to the ottoman presence. Don't forget a super soft white shag rug.
- 11 years agothank you to everyone who provided feedback. I decided to put my brown Ottomans back and I pulled my sectional out to make more of a Square vs L shape. I bought more pillows as suggested with white too bright in the room and match the bench. And I place the bench under the television. also purchase new bar stools to blend with everything else. still an incomplete look but more cohesive. still working on it but happier than what I started with.
