Our new house is currently being built and I opted for the builder to not include a kitchen island because I wanted a more "custom/farmhouse" looking one that my husband can build for me. I've been looking online but haven't been able to come across a good source for kitchen island plans (I have a very specific one in mind and hoping I can find a good "base" plan that we can tweak to get it to where I want). I want a large island (3 or 4' by 8') with closed storage in the middle but with open shelves on each end, turned legs on the ends. Will probably end up putting beadboard on the back. I don't want an island with seating since we will be pushing a small farmhouse table up against it. I usually "design" the plans for my husband and he makes things happen, but this project might be a little out of my scope LOL Thanks!!
