Is the garden low water

It's so beautiful. I live in California and need to replace the lawn as my water bill is over $200 a month (and a small lot). Would these plants work there do you think? Your help is appreciated

Unfortunately, the majority of California is vastly different from Chicago -climate wise. It would probably be best for you to retain a professional Landscape Architect to develop a planting plan that utilizes locally available plant material that will survive and thrive under your specific growing conditions.
