We are very pleased with the work Rolling Landscapes did for us! About thirty years ago they built a limestone retaining wall that still looks beautiful. Recently they replaced an old patio. The crew was nice and hardworking. They came on time, worked all day, and installed the foundation properly. Neighbors have told us the new patio is “gorgeous”. We’re thrilled and highly recommend Rolling Landscapes!

We can’t say enough good things about Rolling Landscapes, Inc. Whether your project is large or small, they do a stellar job. Fifteen years ago, we asked them to re-design the landscaping for our suburban home after a major home renovation project.. They solicited our input and then came up with a design that we could never have imagined. It was just fabulous with a beautiful fountain, brick paths, and our favorite flowers and trees. Over the years, their maintenance crew helped us maintain the beauty of our front and back yards. More recently, after we replaced our garage, we needed to revisit our design plan and they again came up with a stunning plan, which included a bluestone patio with antique brick walkways and new plantings to fit the new yard configuration. Their designers and work crews are professional and hard-working. And the end result of their work is simply stunning. I highly recommend Rolling Landscapes!

We used Matt and the team at Rolling Landscapes for a big patio & landscaping project this summer, and we would recommend them to anyone! I had seen some of their work in our neighborhood and around downers grove and knew they did beautiful work - they did not disappoint! They were very easy to work with, responsive, professional, and honest. They did high quality work in a short timeframe. Our patio looks amazing and is everything we hoped it would be - I’d highly recommend them for any patio or landscaping work!

Really happy with the work done by Rolling Landscapes. We had a tricky project that involved the second stage of work on drainage around an already-built wall. It was particularly important to me that they handle the work exactly as expected by the City and in conformance with the approved plan, given some prior challenges after a different contractor's work was done, and Rolling Landscapes did a great job with that. Beyond that, there was real risk that the wall would be compromised if the work was not done very carefully, and we had no issues at all there. Plus, throughout the project, the team was responsive, and willing to be gracious about my nervousness when it came to following the approved plan. All in all, no complaints and happy to have a hard project in the rear view mirror.

Matts team was super professional, completely opposite experience of most exterior design companies now days. Super fast project, looks flawless and the entire team was on top of it.

Rolling Landscapes did a complete redesign and installation of the area surrounding our home. This included removal and replacement of existing plants, filling in to enhance some areas, extensive mulching and minimal hardscape. Matt, the owner was professional and quick to meet, address our needs and assign a team to execute. Gerry, our designer, met with us several times, developed a plan and presented it in a format with visual representation of new and existing plants. The installation was executed in the time they had scheduled with a team to complete the work in 2 days. The team worked tirelessly, addressed any concerns or questions and left the space in immaculate condition. We are extremely pleased with the job and can't recommend them highly enough. We look forward to using them again for any projects be it design, land or hard scape.

We've been using Rolling Landscapes and working with Matt for several years and have always been very satisfied with their(his) work! Dustin recently (this summer) finished a complete redesign of our backyard including the addition of a bluestone patio and the difference is amazing. There is a wonderful layering of ground cover, flowering bushes, ornamental grasses and trees that forms the perimeter of the yard--all of it making our yard feel like a completely private oasis. We love using our patio in this beautiful and peaceful space! Dustin listened to what we wanted and created a thoughtful plan, and never failed to respond immediately to any questions or concerns. As I said, we've used Rolling Landscapes for several years--and we will continue to do so. They are absolutely the best!

We were first struck by Rolling Landscapes work in our friends' yard. They highly recommended working with Matt, Dustin, and their crew. Communication throughout the project was great. Their keen knowledge of design, drainage, and horticulture was clear. They worked to help the village understand our plan. The crew was efficient and masterful. We are amazed by the transformation of our yard! We appreciate the follow-up after project completion to make sure all was well. Matt and company did a tremendous job transforming our backyard. Rolling landscapes completed the project within the stated time frame, completed project as stated in the initial landscape drawings and fulfilled all our expectations. They were both punctual, hard working and attentive in answering all our questions and concerns as they undertook a massive landscaping project. The work included a new expanded blue stone patio, grill, lawn and many new plantings. My wife and I were both shocked by how beautiful our new lawn is and look forward to many fond memories in the area thanks to Matt and Rolling landscapes.

We needed a dog friendly, needed privacy, fix drainage issue and low maintenance backyard. Rolling Landscape checked off all of those needs. My dogs don’t come in the house filled with mud AND it looks beautiful when I look out the window. Dustin (landscape architect) was so accommodating and listened to everything that we wanted to get done. We had a budget and we were able to keep within that budget. We will be doing a phase two with them in the spring/summer because I know and trust that they will come through again with a beautiful patio for us.

There aren't enough great things to say about Matt and his team at Rolling Landscapes. Matt patiently worked with us through numerous design changes (our requests) and delays (village and other contractors) to not only create a vision for our space, but to see it through to the entirety. The team does high quality work, leaves the area impeccably clean and in my opinion the extremely efficiently from the day the first shovel hit the ground. Matt has an incredible eye and knowledge of what will best suite your project's goals and fit your space appropriately. Rolling Landscape crew is outstanding!!! My project had a variety of issues and every single aspect of the job was handled with expertise. All questions I had were answered immediately and to my complete understanding and satisfaction. When it was finished I was and still am over the moon!!! Even our grounds manager was amazed at the perfection of the completed project.

We had a significant landscaping project where we rebuilt and extended our deck, regraded our side and back yard, buried piping, removed a sizable number of dead trees and added 30 new trees in addition to other landscaping. We considered several landscaping companies and are thrilled with our decision to hire Matt's Rolling Landscapes' team. He and his entire crew were professional, friendly, and meticulous. They worked with urgency and care, treating our home like it was their own. I even saw one of their team members here on a long weekend coming to water and check on the new plantings. Though I had hired an architect to design the project, Matt proactively made recommendations that helped to lower our costs substantially while maintaining the overall desired look and feel. Matt was available throughout the project and onsite regularly to check on the progress. Not only does Matt bring the talent, work ethic and team but he also demonstrated high integrity throughout which in this day and age is priceless. I will definitely hire Matt and his team again to do our front yard next year and would recommend him for large and small projects alike. (note: Even our neighbors like the work so much that we had two hire Matt to do work for them as well.)

From the beginning of this project until the end, Matt and his crew did an amazing job! Rolling landscapes did a great job of informing us of the schedule, working with us when we requested changes mid job, and staying attentive to the job throughout. The employees were all nice and respectful of the property, and worked hard to get the project done with minimal lag time.

We contacted Rolling Landscapes to help us create a more private space in our narrow, walkout, new build lot. Matt came to our house to assess our goals, drainage concerns and budget. He followed up within a few weeks, with schematic drawings that fit our needs. What we really appreciated, was that the drawings allowed for phases of implementation, which helped meet our budgetary needs. Once the weather broke, Matt and his team were efficient in getting the custom fence installed and the plantings in the ground. We are very happy with the design, quality of the work and timely follow-up communication. When we have reached out with questions, we have heard back from Matt generally the same day. We have received numerous compliments on the new design and look forward to working with this team further in the future. I would highly recommend.

Matt and Scott were great to work with. We love our new Trex deck and patio. They both had great ideas and the plants they those chose for us are really beautiful. We plan to enjoy our new yard for many years to come!

Rolling Landscapes was able to transform our uneven, non-functional back yard space into an all-season playground for the kids and a wonderful place to entertain for the adults! I called Matt at Rolling Landscapes in July to give me an estimate on redoing our patio and landscaping in the backyard. I called him because they built a wall in our front yard 8 years ago and it turned out beautiful. I knew I could count on the highest quality of workmanship. Once again I was 100% pleased with their workmanship. I was also very pleased with their timeliness and courtesy. They arrived on time, were friendly, and always cleaned up leaving everything very neat. The job was done in less time than what was originally quoted. I will call them again, should I need any more landscaping work done.

I have had the immense pleasure of working with Matt for at least ten years. He is a master at virtually eliminating duplication of effort through his big picture approach. A landscape architect and general contractor rolled into one, he coordinates all of the disciplines it takes to install a project of his scope. He understands the value of involving the right people from the beginning of a project and working closely with them to achieve the absolute best result. He's the guy everyone wishes they could work with, keeping cool and collected under stressful circumstances with more factors to juggle than most people can count. Matt refuses to do anything but the best. He's fair, but he's not cheap. I always look forward to working with him because I know that we're going to come out with a perfectly orchestrated timeline, well-treated team members, and highly satisfied clients.

Matt and his team completed an entire front and side yard landscape redesign for us. Matt is friendly, professional and courteous, as are all members of his team. They provided thoughtful insight to the design and were open to discussion on the final plans. He provided good communication throughout the project and set out expectations on timing for completion at the outset. Have had an incredible experience working with Matt and Rolling Landscapes on a small project to relocate some boxwoods and clean up some beds. Rolling Landscapes designed and built our entire landscape and hard scape during our full home renovation. Of all the contractors we worked with during that year long project, they were easily the most professional, reliable, and creative. We described our ideas loosely when we first met Matt and he converted that into a perfect design on his first attempt. Clearly he listened well and observed the rest of the project's style. He chose the right spots to spend more money and restrained himself in the places where there was no need to splurge. Matt hung with us during all the project delays (none were his fault) and when time came to execute, his crew was on time, professional, and courteous. They cleaned thoroughly, worked around the other contractors, and were unfailingly courteous the whole time. I've recommended him to other people without hesitation.

Our company, Matthies Builders, has worked with Rolling Landscapes for many years. From the design phase thru construction they have an eye for detail. Their design work is second to none. The landscaping work done on our homes is the perfect finishing touch outside.
