You don't have to match things up. What is the overall style of the home? The use of a 4x4 tile offset tends to be more contemporary and 4x4 non a bias can be more traditional. Snap a quick pic:)

You don't have do matchy matchy so to speak. I think a "brick pattern" looks good with a rectangular tile (subway pattern) but not with a square tile like your 4" x 4". Perhaps try something different like laying it in a 45 degree pattern like the picture. Off course without the dots.

OK, then go with a subway pattern. Those tile sizes are made for a subway pattern
