Paint brush question

I have a purdy paint brush that says it works for all paint types. My question is I've used it for oil base paint. It's been cleaned with mineral spirits & it's dry. Can I now use it for latex paint? Can I go back & forth or should I have oil only & latex only brushes?

Laura, if you haven't started yet, you might wash the brush out with a little dishsoap/water prior to starting. Rinse well. Mineral spirits are 'dirty' and can leave an oily residue in the brush. That can affect your paint (waterbase). I have found best practice to have an oil brush for oil, and a good latex brush for latex. China bristle is excellent for oil, but horrible for latex .

You can go back and forth. I have many times... But, suggest you use one brush for oil and another for latex. Good luck!
