Gaggenau Full Surface Induction Cooktop anyone???

Does anyone have this cooktop? Deciding between this and the Gagg 5 hob cooktop. Would love input from anyone who owns the full surface (or the Thermador Freedom zoneless). I know there are pros and cons to both.

Pros for Zoneless:

1) I can use a long griddle pan. I really really REALLY want a griddle function on the cooktop. For the longest time I had my heart set on the Bluestar 48 double griddle. But DH really wants to go induction, so....

2) I can fit 3 or 4 large diameter pots/pans on the zoneless at one time. On the 5 hob I would be limited to one large pan plus 4 other med/small pans

Pros for 5 hob:

1) The knob!!! It seems much more intuitive to me than the touch screen. I used the zoneless live and it hard to swipe, esp with wet hands.

2) More overall power output

3) Frying sensor -- ok, this one is not that big of a deal, but it would be awesome to have an automatic temperature regulator when deep frying.

Anyone have any thoughts to contribute? Thank you so much!!

Thanks for your input hvtech42. Yeah, I went back to test out the gagg zoneless again and I was not impressed with the evenness of heating. I put 3 large pots with a scant amount of water on the zoneless surface and the bubbles were definitely not evenly dispersed. It seemed like the pots did not pick up all the mini induction hobs underneath -- some were activated and some were not.

You can use a long griddle without zoneless - of course it may not be quite as even. The stuff that's not directly above a burner could take longer to cook, but for most people that probably wouldn't be a huge deal.

You could also compromise and do Bosch FlexInduction. It should be more even than spanning across 2 zones, but it's much less expensive than zoneless and has an easier interface.

Between the 2 Gaggs, if it were me I would do the 5 hob. I feel like it would be a better value for the money, and that removable magnetic knob is really neat IMO.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in some new, closed box Gaggenau and/or Subzero appliances. Someone stiffed us, and the appliances are with an extremely reputable, high end kitchen cabinet company in their storage.

The manufacturer warranties are still effective. We are negotiable on the price, and these appliances are never discounted or go on sale.

I have the full surface induction Gaggenau - hope to be cooking on it in late summer!

Sorry I only have a 24" subzero refrigerator that is for a bar area or for under counter refrigeration in the kitchen (some people use it for their children to have easy access to drinks. It is panel ready so it integrated seamlessly into existing decor.

Don't buy. Waste of money. it's never worked properly. Had it for eight years and only had about one full year of uninterrupted use. Otherwise it's malfunctioned chronically. And they refuse to replace it. WASTE OF MONEY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T BUY!!
