Bona has always worked well for me.

Please be aware of the difference between "cleaners" and "polishes". Cleaners will be pH neutral and will not leave residue behind. A cleaner will be applied to a MICROFIBRE wet/dry dust mop...you will apply the cleaner DIRECTLY to the mop head. This is the only dampness you will apply to the mop.

You will sweep/vacuum the floor prior to cleaning. As you move across the floor, you can apply more cleaner to the mop head as it dries (I like to mist the mop head every time I enter a new room).

Once you have gone through the whole space, you will want to "rinse" the floor (a new microfibre mop head that is LIGHTLY damp with water) to ensure the cleaner has been removed.

Polishes, on the other hand, are semi-permanent products that are 'left behind' to create a new "surface". Hardwood floors RARELY accept polishes...only those floors that have a manufacturers' polish will accept polishes. If you apply a polish to a floor that is not "allowed" to have a polish (eg. my cork floors are NOT allowed to have a polish applied) you will void your warranty.

Always check with the manufacturer before using a polish.

It depends on the floor finish. On the common urethane finishes a vacuum followed by a slightly damp microfiber pad is probably best.

The best non product is a daily vacuum, by the maid or Roomba. This reduces the frequency of using water based cleaning solutions. I'm not sure the solution matters much. Most products are almost entirely water. Fragrance and marketing are the primary differentiators between brands.

Bona kits are always great. Usually your hardwood's brand will have a recommended cleaner which you can ask who you purchased the floor through. Usually it's just dust mopping with a Bona kit (which is no residue) and then if you have a spill or spot you need to clean you use a damp rag as needed. Beware that some Swiffer brand sticks leave a residue if you use it continuously. Thier mop ends have cleaner on them instead of just being a plain microfiber with no cleaner on it.

Don't ever use Bona cleaner. It leaves a residue film on your floor. I've had to refinish many floors due to Bona cleaner.

I love Bona! It's always done a good job for me. It was the only product that removed the foot traffic marks from my dark wood floors.
