County Fair

Grady Co. is celebrating it's 100th free fair this year and I'm celebrating my first time ever entering something in a fair! I entered a zinnia and a fresh floral arrangement (a little one - mostly zinnias and some garlic chive blossoms & lavender blossoms.) Anyone else enter garden things in the fair?

Come visit our pretty, air conditioned fairgrounds in Chickasha this Thursday, Friday, or Saturday! If you eat an indian taco, know that I had a hand in it's existence - my OHCE group cooked and froze 175 lbs of beef on Monday!

Happy to report I won a blue ribbon! I'm as excited as a little kid! There were three whole flower arrangements in this category, so no one get too excited. Sorry for the not great picture - my phone's camera simply cannot handle low light. I'd encourage everyone to find something to enter in their local fair - it's fun and you might win some $$! I get $6 for this - almost enough to buy one of our OHCE indian tacos (which are $7) ;)

Kate, It sounds like fun and I hope y'all have a great turnout at the county fair. Be sure you come back and let us know how your flowers did.

That's a lot of beef! I bet y'all were glad when you were done.

I wish you luck in the competition. If it rains more we may come down and just check it out and Indian Taco would be great.

Looks great to me. Yes county fairs are fun. In my school days I showed steers and had more fun. Hang onto that ribbon!!!!

Kate, Congratulations! It looks great, and don't sell yourself short just because there were not a lot of entries in your category. It is a gorgeous bouquet of beautiful flowers and deserved a ribbon.

While $6.00 might not buy an Indian taco, it would buy several packets of flower seeds. : )
