Might be Costoluto Genovese

I think it's not flat enough to be a costoluto genovese. Sey, did it look like that the previous two years or has it changed?

Caryl is right, Daniel. This variety has a slightly pointy blossom end AND it is not as much pleated to be costoluto of any kind ( = pleated).

I have searched Google images and have not found anything like this so far. The slightly pointy BE is a distinctive feature of it.It is kinda like an onion.

I will post picture of ripe fruits when available.

Sey Oh, so that was actually a real question, when I read this I thought you were playing 20 questions! Hmmmm. After reading the above a second time, hahaha, what about also mentioning the part that It's just an undeveloped green tomato, and there aren't any ripe cross sections or cavities to look at, etc., etc., ... how many clairvoyants are running around here?

In any case it's a European retro-heiroom that goes by the non-descript name of "Coeur de Boeuf d'Antan ", or just Antan CDB in English. This tomato is genetically related to the rest of the Costolutos from the general Genovese region.

I am not playing any game. I really want to narrow it down , at least.

The shape of tomato is the same when ripe. This is the 3rd season I AM GROWING IT.and I gave the history. .

A close up

I have couple of them showing some hint of color. I will take pictures when fully ripe, inside and out. This one , unlike Beef/ox hearts is more flat, large in diameter, with a small protrusion on the blossom end, more like a red onion.

The closest thing to it is the general class of ox heart. But that is a general description not a specific variety, like cherry, grape, pear, strawberry, etc.

In less that a week I should be able to post picture of ripe ones ( not the ones in this picture) .

Qdf deAnton is elongated, like most Ox Hearts. Mine is shorter and more flat.

Again, I see the resemblance but they are not the same thing.

Obviously , mine had been grown in America ( the one that I got seeds from) and not an European import ( sold by Krogers)..

In conclusion : As I said before ( in my opening post) I was shooting for a variety that mine is close to it. And QDF d'Antan IS IT.

Today I picked 3 fruits at some color break.

LASTLY : The profile

Notice , the protrusion that gives it heart shape is less than 3/8". In other words, if you shave that part off the tomato will look just like a pleated beefsteak.. Also it is much wider than it is long. If it is really a HEART variety , it is some big FAT heart. hehe.

I will let them get ripe and the I will show the cross section and inner form.

Can you guess the final ripe color of them ? NOT red, Not pink , Not orange ..either.
