Hi Gardenweb!

Can someone please tell me what is missing from the bid on the installation of new kitchen cabinets below? Our contractor has an unpleasant habit of omitting things. Many thanks!

Scope of work

Install the kitchen lower and upper cabinets, toe kicks, single knobs, crown molding, end panels and 5/8” plywood substrate $5,540.00

15% profit and overhead $831.00

Total $6,371.00

No assembly of cabinets on cabinet interiors included

You titled this thread "kitchen installation cost bid", not "cabinet installation cost bid". So, is this a GC? Or solely cabinet installer?

Who is installing the appliances?

Do you have all the appliances' connections installed already? For example, a gas range will need a certified plumber if the gas line isn't there already. An electric range will need a 20-amp connection - do you have that already in your kitchen?

Do you have an electrician to install wall outlets and undercabinet lighting?

Do you have a tiler for a backsplash?

What about the countertop?

Sink and faucet? Disposal? Who is installing those?

Typically the drywall is marred during cabinet installation - who is patching that, and then painting it?
