Are these stained or a particular type of wood? If stained, what color? They are gorgeous.

The hardwood flooring was provided by the good people at Graf Brothers Flooring.

Thanks! Beautiful. Been debating about engineered. Walnut is my fav, but worried about it's softness.

We've had great luck with walnut in the homes we design. It's remarkably resilient, despite being a bit lower on the Janka hardness scale. Relative to white oak it isn't not too much lower.

One of our clients had a faulty shower valve brake in a wall while gone for the weekend. The walnut wood floors cups like crazy.

Much to our surprise, after a couple of months of letting the floors be, it settled down to the point of almost not being able to tell anything had happened. The owner opted to not refinish the surface because it was so hard to tell anything had gone wrong.

If you're expecting high traffic especially by dogs, you might opt for a stained white oak. But if the traffic is moderate, you'll likely be OK.
