Need Suggestions for Bulbs for East Texas

I have built a lovely pond way back in my horse pasture. There is a spot under some trees with good filtered light that I plan to use for a picnic area and would like to start naturalizing some daffodil, narcissus bulbs. I would appreciate some suggestions as to what varieties would do well here. I am located about 2 hours NE of Houston - the site will be on a gently sloping hill, I don't plan to water as it is so far from my barn. I would like a variety of large and small cupped, some fragrant. Could anyone make suggestions? Thank you.

I like Scheepers' bulbs. Maybe one of their mixed collections would work.

You could also contact the Texas chapter of the daffodil society. Here's a link to the varieties they recommend, but I think it's geared towards the Dallas area.

For as much as I like my daffodils if I were in your zone I'd look at all those cool southern bulbs you can grow. Here's another link to the Southern Bulb Co. for you to Explore!

I am only 3 hours from Dallas, so am sure those recommendations would be just fine. Anxious to get this project started, get the bulbs ordered, so can get them planted - and not get busy and find them sometime next spring in a box!
