First call a PRO who specializes in sound/video etc. Actually before you do that, think very very very hard as to whether you need music in every single room. Most times, it turns out to be a huge, but rarely used expense to wire bedrooms, bathrooms for music, and account for speakers in all rooms, even if you will be accessing from an IPAD or your phone. Internet may require a couple locations for routers....but your past experience with sub par connection in a rental may have been due to multiple users in a joined dwelling,or even just the area you live. You need a pro, and some soul searching. It's very easy to get far more than you need or want.$$$$$

you need wifi and a sonos player and you're finished. call a pro to do that, but dont let anyone start wiring anything.

I would suggest you get a friend who is a geek to help you through this process if you know nothing about it you will pay way too much for what you don’t need.Talk to your friend tell him what you want and let him talk to the pro .

thanks for all of the suggestions - I guess I can find a PRO on Houzz ... not sure why that hadn't occurred to me. But are these audio/video specialists? and nnigrt - we are already Sonos devotees! Mainly want to make sure that there's good wifi coverage. Also, how do I figure out who is the best internet provider in my new neighborhood and what speed to I get? (again, I guess a PRO would be able to help me out here) Just seems like all of this varies so much by neighborhood & providers)
