Replacing just a section would cost more in custom labor than replacing the whole thing.

There are thousands of plastic laminates and they are discontinued and updated by manufacturers constantly. I wouldn't invest a lot of time in trying to find an exact match. Plus, you need a 4'x8' sheet; a remnant is unlikely.

And a metal strip really has not been used as a edging regularly since the 70's so that will complicate trying to match it even more. As noted above, ain't gonna happen......

I don't know about the cost issue as noted above but instead of trying to match, which isn't going to happen, and then having it look off by the miss, how about something like bright red or a blue or wood laminate or something with a design that has black in it.
