After years of living with a dated kitchen, mixed appliance finishes and a leaky faucet, I convinced my husband that it was time for an update.

With a budget of $20 K, (ok, I went over by a couple of grand but still stand by my choices). Part of the savings was in doing some of the work myself, including ripping out the old kitchen cabinetry (okay my Dad helped too) and donating which included free pickup, drywalling and painting. My cabinetry guy was phenomenal in completing the installation within 3 days and the counter was installed shortly thereafter. My friend and contractor was on hand to remove a doorway and co-ordinate the plumber and electrician. I am very fortunate that this went smoothly and was complete within a three weeks from start to finish.

We are very happy with the end result and only wish that we had of tackled this project sooner.
