Keep or cover fireplace

During reno discovered this fireplace hidden behind a wall. It is a marble or Quartz of some sort I think due to the crystalline structure of the stone blocks. The entire wall from one side to the other is covered. The hearth would need to be repaired and I can find black grates to cover vents on sides, but is it worth it to salvage or should I just cover it back up? Or perhaps remove stone on sides and keep middle section? I was thinking of looking for a wood mantle and mounting a TV above but what do you think? One pic is a close up of a block to show grain, other shows some of the colours of the bricks. If anyone knows what type of stone this is it would help to find material for hearth as well. Thanks!
