Nope. As long as it's not bare Sheetrock, it doesn't need to be painted.

I second what eam said: just prime it and done. Although, if you are using pro painters, they will probably be spraying, so just as easy to hit that wall, too. But, yes, if rolling, a waste of time once you have primed the walls.

If you're having cabinets installed (as opposed to DIY): be sure you know exactly where the cabinets will be positioned, so you know where to extend the paint line. Just to be covered (in case your installer does an on-site mod and decides to alter the placement a bit), paint a bit past the anticipated margin/space.

Thanks everyone, we had a painter provide a quote and he said to leave the walls unpainted. He will paint everything once the cabinets are in. Appreciate all your feedback!
