For me (not expert) is hard to say....but have you other plants? Wait few weeks and see whether flowers become little fruits...

Agreed that you should probably give it some time; my papaya I got last year only produced male flowers for a couple weeks then it started making some female ones and I got some papayas.

I didn't know....i thought there were three kind of papaya...

Male Papaya = Only Male Flowers

Female PApaya = Only Female Flowers

Bisexual Papaya = Only Hermaphrodis Flowers

I'm not sure how to explain it either Franceso, perhaps mine at first made some males and then starting making hermaphrodite flowers, or the early ones were hermaphrodite but no viable pollen.

That is a female Papaya. The male ones make flowers in clusters and a few inches away from the trunk.

but, a HERM tree can produce male flowers on the trunk.

it depends very much on the variety. (Do you know what it is ?)

On your 1st photo... the flower on the bottom right, that looks old, appears to be a male - because it is skinny... but, its hard to tell without looking at its parts.

So a same plant can make all kind of flowers during development?

Do ambiental factor determ what flower papaya will do?

some people have said it does, but, i recently grew 6 seeds, 5 were female or herm,

and 1 was male.

its usually just a percentage. It has a lot to do with variety.

Would I be able to get papaya seeds from this papaya tree ? I like how even the flowers have some purple on them.
