Root mealy ?

last modified: 11 years ago

I am in the midst of a mealy nightmare. After not having them for YEARS and getting rather slothful I am throwing the book at them. My question right now is that I am looking at a cold tolerant pachyveria that came out of a combination pot that was rife with root mealies. They were white fuzzy and in the roots and some on the stems. I am, thinking about putting this in the ground. I have dunked it in 120-130F water, spayed it with dawn and sprayed it with alcohol. Do you think I should put it in the ground. I have never seen mealies in the soil . I think they get eaten up by other bugs. I do not want to introduce them. I am trying to cut down on pots to carry in during the winter. So things that will live outdoors are being put in the ground. Any opinions? Should I or shouldn't I . I see no mealies on the roots trght now. They are out of the soil and bare root from all this treatment.
