To answer the question from a kitchen designers point of view you need to see the layout of the kitchen to see how the different appliance choices effect your design. You need a large space to accommodate either of these appliance plans. Often our customer spend a great deal of time considering appliances before they are confronted with the reality of their own kitchen space. When they finally meet with a professional designer and lay out their kitchen the choices are almost forced on them by simply what fits, looks appropriate, and leaves enough space for their other kitchen "must haves".

i like a cooktop so that pots and pans can be stored under it instead of 'over there'. and i like wall ovens so you don't have to bend over to remove large heavy things with a rush of hot air in your face.

Steam ovens are becoming increasingly popular. They may become your everyday oven. You don't even need to preheat them. I am most likely going with single wall oven and wall combi steam oven. I have heard many people prefer Wolf size and features and that is what I will chose.
