Why does it have to stay green? that's a terrible color, makes the brick loow awful, and basically anything else you do will be like a drop in the bucket against that effect! Plus, then you have to make decisions about trim color and so forth in the context of a color you don't want to keep...

Build out porch pillar. Paint downspout to match wall/brick. Add more substantial foundation plantings on left side where windows high. Update porch light. Do something better with that sad patch of garden in the middle of your lawn -- a gree?

But it's hard to get excited about trim colors and a new door here. I mean, maybe a charcoal tone that you find in the brick would be good for all trim and hold up to various later paint choices. Would want to paint storm door that color too. And then a bright color for front door, but.. with the green?

I know....it is depressing. Ummm...it has to stay green because there is asbestos under it the old siding. I can't imagine painting the vinyl siding. It is so gross and spider webby and there are so many nooks and crannies to be painted. My husband bought this thing before I knew him and he thought it was grey! He is colorblind! I can do a little carpentry, but nothing super major myself. I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do. I hate it! We remodeled the kitchen and put down new floors- but the outside is so depressing! And under the dirt is hard clay soil.

Ps - my hair dresser suggested brown but it'll be giant Andes mint then.

I actually think the green is pretty great--embrace it! At least in the photo it looks pretty minty--which is one of my favorite colors. I would get new shutters in a new color and change the door color--maybe a raspberry (purply pink) color or charcoal gray/black. Add window boxes (though not really the time of year for that). Also, find a light fixture you love, to make up for keeping the green?
